Description
These are Roper style stirrups made from Hickory hardwood and bound with Galvanized metal, some people use to call these "tin bound" stirrups. This type of stirrups in the many different shapes and styles have been around for years and are one of the most common stirrups used. These are good quality stirrups, which are made from a nice hickory wood. I will ship them with the rollers leather covered and with a wear leather in the bottom of these. The picture shows the stirrups with the roller cover and wear leathers in place. In this Roper shape version there are 4 tread widths available- 2", 2 1/2", and 4". (I can no longer get the 3 1/2" version) The thread width refers to the width of the stirrup where your foot goes in front to back, not the opening size of the stirrups. This listing is for one pair of 3" wide Galvanized Metal bound Roper Stirrups that are made for a 3" wide stirrup leather.
If you have 2 1/2" stirrup leathers I have the rollers for those here and is just a matter of swapping them for the 3" size and cutting the bolt off. I never cut the bolt off until ready to ship anyway in case someone wants the 2 1/2" neck size. Its an easy swap and the only difference between the 2 1/2" and 3 " neck is the difference in roller width and bolt length. Make sure to email me or leave me a note in the order details if you want the 2 1/2" neck size for 2 1/2" stirrup leathers. If I don't hear anything I will ship the 3" size neck roller. These Ropers are close to same shape as a Visalia Stirrup but with a longer /deeper 6" height measurement than the standard 5 1/4" height. The width is still listed as 5 1/4" on these. Be sure to see the pictures for a description of the measurements.
These USA Made Stirrups are great for a extra pair of stirrups for your saddle or to ride everyday. Also see my other listings or my store to see the versions and other styles of stirrups that I will be adding in the coming days.
The Tread is measured from the front to the back and is the part where your foot rests. The Height is measured from the top of the tread to the bottom of the neck. The neck is where the roller is, and is where your stirrup leather will be. The width is the widest point of the inside of the stirrup. These measurements would be without wear leathers, ect. I found a picture explaining the measurements used so I included it in the pictures for reference. It probably more understandable than my explaination.
These 3" Roper Stirrups have a listed 3" Tread, a 6" Height, and a 5 1/4" Width. See my other items and store for the others. This listing is for one pair of the 2" Roper Stirrups with wear leathers . The measurement would be before wear leathers are in place and your choice of Roller width.
