For sale is a brand new nostalgic vintage reproduction metal sign of Cortina D'Ampezzo with a snow skiing, winter sports theme. This durable sign is 18" x 12" in size with die-cut holes in each corner for easy hanging. It is made in the USA with heavy gauge American steel by Vintage Sign Company. The image is made by a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable, long lasting finish.
These signs are great for decorating the ski lodge, garage, shop, bar, man cave, home, office, or dorm room.
Cortina d'Ampezzo, commonly referred to as Cortina, is a town and comune
the heart of the southern Alps in Northern Italy. It is a popular winter sports
resort known for its skiing trails, scenery, accommodation, shops and après-ski
scene, and for its jet set
and aristocratic European crowd.
Although unable to host the 1944 Winter Olympics because of World War II, Cortina did host the Olympics in 1956 as well as other world winter-sports events through the years.
The sign features an illustration of a woman on skis wearing brown knickers and coat and red hat. In the background are the sunny peaks of the mountain top against a cloudless blue sky and a snowy slope dotted with skiers. The words "CORTINA D'AMPEZZO" is across the bottom in dark type.
The sign is brand new and comes wrapped in the original manufacturer's packaging. The manufacturer performs a vintaging process by hand to give it signs of wear, scratches, stains and rust to give it a more retro and nostalgic look and feel. Since they are antiqued by hand, each sign is unique and may not match exactly the one pictured.
