RARE! Elegant LE Smith Clear Glass Crimped Ribbed Console Bowl 3 Toed Depression Glass Circa 1930! RARE!The LE Smith Glass Co produced a wide range of fine glass for 98 years and many of their pieces remain unidentified. This pattern is merely #38 Clear and described as "3 Toed Round Crimped Bowl"
It's a beautifully elegant bowl that could be used many ways.
Perfect for salads, fruit or simply as an outstandingly beautiful art piece on its own!
About a Console Bowl: This is a type of large glass
bowl
used to hold a centerpiece arrangement of flowers or fruit on a dining table or buffet.
They were especially popular from the 1920s through the 1940s,
and usually had matching candlesticks to place on either side of the
bowl
.
We also have in our store two candleholders that were paired with this bowl by the previous owner in a similar pattern called Manhattan made by Anchor Hocking in the late 1930's.
Measures approx: 13" round x 4" high
Condition is simply beautiful! This dish has managed to survive 9 decades unscathed! Hurray!
