    Description

    This is Mammy, the 8" version produced by Madame Alexander as part of the Scarlett Jubilee II line, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Gone With the Wind. The movie was released in January 1940, and this special collection of dolls was introduced in 1989, just ahead of the 50th anniversary event.
    I love this particular Mammy doll -- she wears the rustling red taffeta petticoat which the Mammy character receives as a gift from Rhett Butler in the film. This doll is a beauty. She was purchased new by an adult collector who brought her home and kept her in the box. The doll has her MA registration card in the box with her, never filled out/mailed in. She has her wrist tag attached, her pink tissue paper, and she even has the factory cardboard neck guard still in place to hold her steady in the box! The box has done a fine job of protecting the doll for 32 years. The box has shelf wear, 1" tear on lid edge, etc but it is certainly serviceable. Nonsmoking collection of original owner.
