CALCULATE THE AMOUNT OF FIRE GLASS NEEDED FOR YOUR SQUARE OR RECTANGULAR FIRE PIT To calculate the amount of fire pit glass needed to fill a square or rectangular fire pit, use the following equation: Width X Length X Depth, divided by 19 = pounds of fire glass needed. We recommend a minimum 2” of fire glass depth for most installations. For example, a 48" X 14" fire pit at the recommended 2” of fire glass depth: 48 X 14 X 2, divided by 19 = 70 lbs.
