Retired from the 17th Hole Par 4 in What's Now Thought to be The Delray Beach Golf Club
Made of Heavy Wood which Has Naturally Weathered Over Time Due to Outside Use
The Sign Boasts a Nicely Carved Map of the 17th Hole with Recessed Hazards
It is Flanked with Color-Specific Raised Distance Numbers and Lettering
This Weighty Piece Measures Approximately 29-1/2" x 17" x 1-1/2"
The Sign Reads
:
The upper portion, reads, "DELRAY BEACH MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE," "17 PAR 4" and depicts tee markers 400, 373, 350 and 320.  The bottom portion reads, "HOLIDAY INN DELRAY CAMINO REAL" and "1229 E. ATLANTIC AVE." and provides the phone number, "278-0882."  It likewise bears the scrolled guesthouse "keyhole" logo above the words, Camino Real."
Vintage Condition as Found
:
The sign shows heavy weathering due to years of outdoor exposure to the elements.  It was once attached to a post with two horizontal support boards on the back, one of which is missing, but is easily replaced if you so choose.  This phenomental piece of history shows signs of weathering,
wear, staining, scuffing, scratches, crumbling, chipping paint/numbers/lettering, cracks, chips, gouges, wood errosion, chippy edges, etc.
commensurate with age and years of use.  The paint has possibly been touched up over time as the weather wore away the lettering.  A

15 years ago, I was fortunate to aquire this fantastic sign in its current condition after it had been retired for many years.  It has since been a part of my own unique antique and vintage sign collection.  It has a great look and a rich history behind it and would be the perfect signature piece for any man cave, office, game room or vacation home!
