    Description

I'm offering for purchase this Vintage US GLASS 'Massachusetts' Style Cobalt Blue 2-Piece Butter Dish in good to very-good condition.
    The
piece came from my Grandmother, and I found it in good condition overall for its age, with only a very few number of minor dings and scuffs around the outside perimeter of the base. The circle shaped dish in the center is very nice, and you're hard pressed to find any blemishes, and the same can be said about the perimeter of the lid. I made a point to run my finger around the edges.
However, what I noticed when it came time to take pictures was more than a little surprising to my eyes, at least. Note that I'm fairly new to art glass, and I know next to nothing about antique glass repair, but I've never seen anything like this. Essentially, the lid handle is askew. I searched for repair marks or seams under the light and found nothing of note other than a couple of tiny bubbles. Would it have been possible that the handle broke off and then repaired later on, or did the original glassmaker make a mistake? I'm not sure, but maybe you know more, and if you do, let me know!
With that said, here are the dimensions of this piece:
The dish is 8-1/4" Wide measured from the top and it has a 3" square-shaped base.
The lid is 5-1/8" Wide and 4-7/8" Tall
With the lid attached, this piece measures approximately 5-3/4" tall.
If you have additional questions, just ask, but I think that 'covers' it. Thanks for looking!
