Vtg 1930s L.E. Smith Black Amethyst Glass Art Deco Loving Cup, Trophy Vase

Description

Vintage  L.E. Smith vase.  It is made of heavy molded black amethyst glass, which is the company's most collectible. It is a handled trophy vase, featuring two dancing nymphs, with flowers under their feet and gorgeous scrolls throughout.  This embossed scene is set inside a heart and is shown only on the front of the vase; the back of the vase is smooth.  This vase is called a loving cup or a trophy vase;  it has two handles, a smooth rim, and noticeable seams.  It has a squared base.
Amethyst glass appears black, but when you hold it up to a strong light, you see a gorgeous amethyst, or deep purple color - this amethyst or deep purple color is shown in the last two photos.
Measuring approximately 7" high, with a handle to handle width of about 6", and a rim width of 4 1/4", this art deco loving cup, circa 1930s, is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks.
