For sale is a brand new nostalgic vintage reproduction metal sign with a snow skiing, winter sports theme. This durable sign is 18" x 12" in size with die-cut holes in each corner for easy hanging. It is made in the USA with heavy gauge American steel by Vintage Sign Company. The image is made by a process known as sublimation, where the image is baked into a powder coating for a durable, long lasting finish.
These signs are great for decorating the ski lodge, garage, shop, bar, man cave, home, office, or dorm room.
The sign advertises travel services from London to skiing in the Swiss Alps. The design is a Bavarian style brown house with blue and green roof and two arched doorways. One is rainy London with an exiting man, umbrella in hand. In the other doorway he is on skis on a mountain top with a large smile. Beside each door is a thermometer showing the same temperature. The house has a Swiss flag at the top flanked by two clocks, one labeled "TO-DAY" at 4:20 with the other labeled "TO-MORROW" at 8 o'clock. The illustration is signed WEBER at the base of the building.
Below, on a yellow background in black, green and red type reads: "It's time to go South, WINTER SPORTS EXPRESSES, leave LONDON (VICTORIA) at 2.0 p.m. Via Calais, 4.20 p.m. Via Boulogne, Full particulars from Continental Enquiry Office, Victoria Station, London, S.W.I. or any Tourist Agency."
The sign is brand new and comes wrapped in the original manufacturer's packaging. The manufacturer performs a vintaging process by hand to give it signs of wear, scratches, stains and rust to give it a more retro and nostalgic look and feel. Since they are antiqued by hand, each sign is unique and may not match exactly the one pictured.
The sign will come directly from the manufacturer and could take 10-15 days to arrive.
